Sod-cutting ceremony attended by school officials, managers and pupils

Teachers, governors and pupils from Bellbird Primary School in Sawston, Cambridgeshire, joined Jeakins Weir team members at the official sod-cutting ceremony for the school’s £2m extension. Groundworks have already begun for the foundations and steel frame for the new block, which will increase the school’s capacity from 300 to 420 pupils.

The ceremony took place in November, and was attended by Headteacher, Katie Kendall, School Business Manager, Diane Baslington, Chair of Governors, Dr Tim Wreghitt, School Governor, Tim Silk and two Year 6 pupils, alongside Jeakins Weir Managing Director, Alistair Weir, Site Manager, Ashley Mann, Assistant Business Development Manager, Sophie Lindsay and Architect David Turner from Pick Everard.
