Shoeboxes filled with gifts from Jeakins Weir staff will be bringing some festive cheer to children in need around the world this Christmas. The company chose the Samaritan’s Purse Shoebox Appeal as this year’s Christmas staff charity event.
17 shoeboxes were packed with cuddly toys, games, stationery, books, toothbrushes, hats, scarves and other essential items, and dispatched to the charity for shipment worldwide.
Lisa Nicolson at Jeakins Weir said: “We know we can always rely on our people to get behind any charity appeal, and they really embraced this challenge. It’s wonderful to think that boxes packed by us here in the East Midlands are helping to make life a little bit brighter for children in difficult situations in Africa, India, China and many other places.”
