"Jeakins Weir built our new Sports Hall which was opened in 2004. We have been delighted with this new facility and therefore were very pleased when they were awarded the contract to build our new £2million Humanities area."
Gary Longman,
Headteacher The King's School Peterborough

Repairs & Maintenance
Jeakins Weir first entered the repair and maintenance field in 1980, working on military bases in the East Midlands. Since then, we have expanded our operations and have a division that carries out responsive repairs and planned maintenance for Social Housing Landlords throughout the country.
We have excellent management and IT systems, which form the key to our success in this field. We are able to keep a close control on all works orders issued to us and ensure that we carry out repairs within the target date, to the correct quality and with minimal disturbance to the end user. We are able to work to a paperless system, with direct interfaces to client IT systems as well as handheld mobile devices for our operatives.
We have successfully entered into partnering agreements with a number of our clients, including Open Book accounting models. We are able to provide Key Performance Indicators on our operations, including appointment details, quality inspections, customer satisfaction and completion reports.
Client Case Studies
We have carried out the responsive repairs and maintenance for Soha Housing (based in South Oxfordshire) since 2000, and in January 2006 this contract was developed into an 'Open Book' Partnering Agreement. Under the new arrangement, we continue to meet all the Key Performance Indicators and in addition, the innovative arrangement has resulted in cost savings, further enhancing our 'Best Value' service.
NKDC's innovative approach has seen the joint development of a shared IT system, ensuring that we have real time information available to us and our client. The increased level of communication achieved through this initiative has led to a more streamlined service delivery which has assisted in reducing the cost of their repairs service.
Jeakins Weir were awarded the Melton Borough Council responsive repairs contract in April 2006. The works were previously carried out by the Council's Direct Labour Organisation, and as part of the new arrangement, all the operatives and management were TUPE transferred over to us. Since April, the Council have seen a marked improvement in the performance of their repair service, and motivation levels amongst the TUPE-transferred staff have never been better.
